No, I did not really disappear...

I am not a good blogger. I am a wonderful Internet surfer, and am always interested in what everyone is doing. Before the world of IM, texting, and email, I was not a good letter writer. I'm terrible about getting out Christmas cards, too!

The greatest event of my life recently was the arrival of my beautiful granddaughter, Gracie. She arrived on Mother's Day, all 7 1/2 pounds of her (tiny in my book!). DD1 and Son-in-law are wading through the wonders of new parenthood. Some good, some bad, all blessed!

My son graduated from elementary school last week. Oh, I am not looking forward to doing Middle School again!

It is always interesting to see what DD2 will do next! She is pursuing two degrees, so will be in college another year. Then grad school. She is headed to Honduras this summer on a mission trip, and is looking forward to immersing herself in the Spanish language, her minor at school.

Just for fun, I've tried to fit in some baking. Here's what I've been up to lately: Baby Gracie cookies, LWA graduation cookies, and a cupcake tower with cookie topper for a wonderful young lady at church!

  1. Congratulations on your new granddaughter!

I am an events coordinator/caterer at my United Methodist Church, and I am SO impressed with your decorating skills! You make me want to do better. :) I especially love the color combos on the rose cupcakes - 2 of my favorite colors together.

I also loved your Bible scripture/confirmation cake on another post. I may have to try to emulate that for our confirmation class brunch next year!

  2. Thank you,Linda! We are in the midst of VBS right now, which leaves no time for baking! Just before VBS, we had an open house to show off Miss G! I made Dr. Suess cookies, but I don't think we got any pictures. Oh well, they tasted good! I'll have to dig out my camera to see what's on it.

  3. Love seeing your creations. Please post more. :)
